Oh no! I’m melting, just like the wicked witch in the Wizard of OZ. Before long I’m going to become a puddle of green goop on the floor because it’s too hot. The official day of summer is here in four days, but today the temperature was 107 degrees in the valley.  What’s a cat to do when it’s so hot? I can’t shed this hot fur coat, but I can’t seem to find a cool place to sleep.

Help me! if it’s cool where you are can I come and stay for awhile?

Look At It Snow

“Hey Spencer! It’s raining again, but I’m not getting wet like when it normally rains. What is it?” asked Tasha.  

 ”I’m not sure, but I think it’s snow,” said Spencer.  “I remember mom talking about it when they went to Sequoia one year in the middle of winter. She said there was snow on the ground everywhere and ice hanging from the building that it froze as it dripped off the building.”

 ”Well, it’s not cold here on the blog so I guess I can handle watching it snow.” decided Tasha. “Wanna play in the snow, Spencer? Ah! come on Spencer take some time away from guarding the yard and let’s go jump in the snow.” begged Tasha.

“Okay, but let’s ask Amber if this is what snow looks like at her house?”  suggested Spencer.

“Oh, if you must, but hurry up, I can’t wait to play.” moaned Tasha.

Mom found me another pal on-line, his name is also Spencer. He is a 9 year old Golden Retriever and was trained to be in movies, but was interested in getting attention from everyone on the set so he had an early retirement. If you check out his blog he’s in his own u-tube movies and he does this thing where he holds 3 tennis balls in his mouth at one time, it’s really quite impressive and silly.

I’d love to meet him since he lives in the Los Angeles area, but he’ll have to come over since he seems to live near me because I have a yard to guard. I’m sure we’d have lots of fun playing with all those tennis balls.

Air-Conditioning Blues

“Hey Spencer!” said Tasha.

“What?”replied Spencer, opening an eye from his sleeping position in the dog house.

“Look what they’ve done with the new air conditioning system. They raised it even higher off the ground. I bet you can’t jump on it anymore” teased Tasha. “Hah! no more standing and sleeping on the machine and getting all that hot air blown on you. You won’t be King of the Backyard anymore and now you have to look in the house windows the same as I do, by standing on your hind legs.” continued Tasha.

“Oh! I’ll jump on top of it, you just wait and see.” grumbled Spencer.

“Sure, you will, Yeah sure, Well, you are gonna have another birthday in September so you better do it before you become old and feeble,” giggled Tasha.
