(from the voice of Spencer)
Mom found me another pal on-line, his name is also Spencer. He is a 9 year old Golden Retriever and was trained to be in movies, but was interested in getting attention from everyone on the set so he had an early retirement. If you check out his blog he’s in his own u-tube movies and he does this thing where he holds 3 tennis balls in his mouth at one time, it’s really quite impressive and silly.
I’d love to meet him since he lives in the Los Angeles area, but he’ll have to come over since he seems to live near me because I have a yard to guard. I’m sure we’d have lots of fun playing with all those tennis balls.
check out his site and see what the other Spencer is up to; http://blog.stickerdog.com

Amber, the love of my life!
My heart is going pitter patter and the reason is this pretty girl. Her name is Amber and she just might be the love of my life. I’ve never seen a prettier dog. Our love can only go on through cyberspace cause she lives in the northern United States, too far away to visit with each other. Be still my heart! Love is grand and it’s happening to me. I’ll have to think of an escape plan and go on my way to her state. Wait for me Amber, I’ll be there soon!
Amber, doesn’t have a blog of her own, but lives with her human mom on a 10 acre spread. You can find her human mom at; www.my recycledbags.com

I found a new pal Amber. She’s a female yellow Labrador Retriever and she gets to guard 10 acres of forest on her human mom’s property. She’s even been known to face a bear or even a rabbit to protect her home. Oooh! the only thing I get to chase down is possums. What a lucky dog she is. She doesn’t have a website or blog of her own, but her human mom does, it’s here at www.myrecycledbags.com
Maybe, I can get a picture of her and put it up on my blog. I’ll bet she’s everything and more.

Cake and ice cream, party hats and stremers, if you ask me this birthday stuff is overrated. Mom says I’m 5 today. Woo Hoo! but, that doesn’t mean there’s time for cake and ice cream. I still have a yard to guard and I take that very seriously. After all, I am an army of one, I am Spencer.

It’s such a common sight to see a dog inside a car in a parking lot. Maybe, he’s barking a warning to stay clear or his tail is wagging, excited that someone is willing to exchange a greeting. We go about our business and think nothing of the dog in the car. Do we really know how long that dog has been in the car, a few minutes, an hour, more than an hour? The dog waits for his owner to come back, but they can’t defend themselves against the heat. When it’s a hot summer day, the temperatures inside a car can reach 120 degrees even with the windows slightly down.
You might ask yourself what you can do to ensure the dog’s safety?
Take a closer look at the dog and see if it displays any of the following signs as these could be symptoms of heat stress. Heavy panting, glazed eyes, rapid pulse, unsteadiness, vomiting, deep red or purple tongue.
If you’re unsure of these signs go back into the store and tell them about the dog. The store might be able to send a message over a loudspeaker to the owner of the dog. If the dog is in grave danger a call to the police can be made.
Dogs deserve to be treated just like us. If you can’t take the dog in the store with you leave your dog at home in the air conditioned house or under a shade treee in the yard.
If these few small things would have been followed it could have saved the life of a Labrador Retriever that was left inside a parked car. On a very hot day in Southern California, after four hours in the car, the dog died of heat exhaustion.

(From Sassy the cat)
It seems no one wants this troublesome millionaire mutt that belonged to Leona Helmsley, “The Queen of Mean.” Helmsley’s 80 year old brother doesn’t want the trouble of taking care of Trouble. The housekeeper who has been bitten a few times during her three month job with the hotel queen wants a bite of that money.
Now the funny part to all this is that the dog can’t be buried next to it’s precious owner because no animals remains are to buried in human graveyards.
I guess life isn’t going to the dogs after all.

The only time I wish I were a dog is when that dog owners leaves it millions of dollars in their will. Can you believe it? Leona Helmsley leaves 12 million dollars to her little mutt and it will be pampered for the rest of his life. Let’s hope it’s a short one. Even if it’s a short one that mutt will be buried next to Helmsley in the family mausoleum.
Helmsley became a symbol of the 1980’s greed and earned the nickname “the Queen of Mean” after her conviction for tax evasion and served time in the slammer. Talk about paying your dues.
Now, I ask all cat lovers and all sane people, why any dog deserves to get all that money. How come you never see people leaving money to their cats?
Talk about life going to the dogs.
